New York City

On memorial weekend our family finally made it to the city after living so close for almost a year.  Every time we planned to go in the past something stopped us, like hurricane Irene for example.  Anyway, we went and had a lot of fun.  We met up with Anthony and Sharon Quinn and there two little ones, along with Paul and Valine Quinn were in town from Utah.

Our first stop was The Museum of Natural History.  We found free parking right outside the museum, so perfect.
The museum is right across the street from Central park, so before it opened we took the girls for a stroll through the park.  There was this cool castle like building, next to the pond we were looking at.
 Tons of little turtles.

 At the museum...

Kennedi was rarely in the mood for a photo.

Libby remembered the Easter Island statue from the movie Night at the Museum, which she's seen once, and wasn't all that interested in it.

I loved all the cool architecture.
Freedom tower being constructed (World Trade Center 1).  It will be 21 feet taller than the Empire State building and the tallest building in the U.S.A.  So amazing!
 9/11 Memorial

The first memorial.  It was really neat to see the beautiful construction.  People from all over the world were visiting
The closest we got to the Statue of Liberty.  This was one of the last things that we did and it was such a  hot and humid day...as you can tell by our sticky hair appearance.
The name of the boat is Miss Liberty.
 Time Square...busy, busy, busy place!

 More cool buildings.
We met up with one of Josh's best friends Noah and his wife Allison who have lived in the city for a few years now.  We ate at a NY pizza place...Pasty's Pizzeria.  Pretty good!  (ain't no Papa Murphy's though...lol)
 Riding the subway.

She fell asleep with all the bumpiness from the subway.  Thankfully.  I was worried that she wouldn't get a nap in that day because she prefers her bed so much.   Both girls were so good the whole day.
 M&M store

 End of the day!
