Iowa State Fair

Since this is our families last summer in Iowa, we decided it was about time to go to the Iowa State Fair. It is one of the top 100 things you should do before you die...so check that one off! Our good friends Dan and Jenny Shipley took us! Their son Spencer who's 2 1/2 and Libby got along well. Jenny had just said that Libby was cute and then she asked Spencer if he thought so, and in the cutest way he said "YES!" and turned his head all shy. We had a great time and we were very lucky to have great weather! Usually it's way to hot and humid, this year has been great though.
The coolest Rooster

Cute baby Ostrich's

Bigget Bull at the fair! Weighed over 4,400 pounds!

Largest Pig, weighed over 1,100 pounds.

Checking out the baby sheep that we just saw being born! Libby loved seeing all the cute baby animals.

Libby and Me with the baby ducks. We also saw a pig give birth...pigs can have on average 14-18 piglets at one time! Sometime up to 20! They were cute little things. Deffinitely don't want to post those pics from the birth though:)

Josh with his huge Turkey leg...it was $7, yikes! Everything was on a stick! Even salad. We also had to get something deep fried, so we shared a deep fried Snickers bar. It was good, but we think we like Oreos best. We also tried honey lemonade, homemade jams, fried bread with cheese and jam, cherry coke and pork on a stick...yum!

Butter TV...interesting, last year they did Shawn Johnson, I think that would have been way better to see.

The infamous Butter Cow

You'll never guess what late 90's rapper had a concert at the fair while we were there...Coolio! This is the best picture we could get, he's in the middle in the baby blue. Josh said that the only thing Coolio has in common with Iowa are "cornrows".

So basically this sign sums up our experience at the Iowa State Fair!

Was that sign Coolio's concert tour name? That'd be sweet!
Um... Erik, I am sure that if they say you could get everything on a stick, I bet you could even get an orange on a toothpick! It'd be UGE!

Well it will have to be on a list of to do's before I die... wait, you know when I am going to die?

What are your plans for next year? Where you headed next? Any closer to us?
