For the month of August Josh had a rotation in Greeley Colorado. So Sam, Libby and Kennedi stayed in Montrose with the Thun family, while during the week Josh was in Greeley working hard. He was able to drive the 6 hour drive home every weekend to be with us and then he ended being able to stay till Monday instead of Sunday. So nice.
While in Montrose the girls and I spent time with Marie, Jerry and Erik. While there Papa Murphy's reopened. The store looks awesome and the pizza tastes even better than ever! We played lots of card games like Monopoly Deal, Bang, Sorry and Yahtzee...all card versions. I recommend Monopoly Deal, Josh and I went through a phase of playing in every night. Marie has a friend that was selling some cute material and a discount price, so I got some to make Libby a pillow case. It turned out so cute. I'm trying to learn to sew, and it was an easy thing to start on. Libby loves it too. When she goes to bed she always says "Mommy made my pillow!" It makes me so happy that she likes it. We also did some shopping at Target and JCPennys, for some reason their clearance is the best. We got some sun dresses for $1.50, shorts, $1.00, one piece jumpers for Kennedi for $1.97, and a cute shirt for $1.00. Of course nothing for me that good, but oh well.
Kennedi grew like crazy while there. She is changing so fast. She will be 4 months on the 18th. She has been sleeping through the night for about 2 months now. She smiles a lot! She has beautiful blue eyes still. Libby just loves her like crazy. Today I caught her about to ride her like a horse on the ground. Yikes. Whenever someone besides family talks to Kennedi Libby is always right there to show her off as her sister. Libby is talking up a storm. She loves learning new words and has been such a copycat lately too! She loves to play cards with us, she played with Eriks' princess cards while we played our games. She is like her mother in so many ways, one in particular is her love for ice cream. :) I have no idea why but she calls ice cream "wa-kees" not sure how to spell it either. When we try to get her to say ice cream she says ice wa-kees. Haha. We love her! She is also in to buckling anything that has a buckle...baby swing, carseats, bouncers and highchairs and nobody is in the seats.
We were able to be in town for Erik's Eagle Court of honor.
We went to Ridgeway to the lake a couple of times. Libby just loves the water and playing in the sand. She would just hang out by the edge of the water and play with buckets and shovels. Then she would swim in her pink boat with mom and play ring around the rosies in the water! This day in particular is was a little cooler than usual and she was shivering, but refused to get bundled up. She's such a die hard. It was so hard getting her to leave at the end of the day too. We had to "bribe" her by telling her that we were going to have Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner. :)
Libby spent lots of time in Grandma's garden. Her favorite thing to do was to pick raspberries...and EAT them. We tried all month to get her to try a cherry tomato, then she finally decided to on her last day in the garden. Except it was a green one. EWW! Josh said she played with it in her mouth for a mintute then when she chewed down on it she gagged and gagged and spit it out. Probably won't try those again.
