Apple Picking

It's apple season and the yummy Honey Crisp apples are fresh here in NY.  Two weekends ago we made a short drive south to the beautiful Dubois Farm.  This place was just incredible.  The land was so pretty, rolling hills full of apple, pear, peach, plums, and necterine trees, grape vineards, tomatoes, pumpkins, eggplant, and peppers.  We checked out all the farm animals first.  Then we went for the Honey Crisp apples and also grabbed a couple of  huge fresh ruby red tomatoes.  It poured on us at one point, but we didn't let that stop us.  The scenery was just so great.  After we picked our goods, we went to their barn/cafe and had some freshly baked apple cider donuts and the girls got a pink candy cane.  The donuts were sooooo good.  I'd never had apple cider donuts until we moved to NY.  If you've never tried them we recommend you do.  :)

I love how excited Kennedi was in this picture.
I told Josh that I would like a pond like this in our yard someday and he told me no, he wants one that is ten times bigger.  :)
Libby didn't really want to take a picture for me at the moment, she was too busy helping dad find a tomatoe.
I love my tall husband! :)

We got a little wet

Then we headed over to a bridge over the Hudson river.  It was an old railroad bridge that was converted into a state park bridge for pedestrians to enjoy the views.  It's called Walkway Over the Hudson.  We walked halfway across and back and really enjoyed the time with the girls.  It made Josh and I really want to get some bikes with some kid trailers.  :)

Ok, that place sounds amazing! You have sparked my interest in finding some local farms here to get our fruits and veggies (before it gets too cold!).
