Josh and Sam NYC Day Trip

Josh and I were able to make it down to the Manhattan temple for an endowment session with our ward on a Saturday morning.  Our friends watched all of our kids for the whole day so we could spend some time on our own in the city.  We me up with Josh's good friend from high school, Noah.  He and his family have lived here for a few years.
We took a walk through Central Park to get to the restaurant we were going to eat at.  That is the ice rink behind us.

We saw this taxi parked outside a hotel across from Central Park on the upper east side.  We loved it.  It reminds us of the one in the movie "On The Town."
After we ate lunch and an Indian food restaurant.  We headed over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  This is one of my favorites in the city.  It was our first time going, and did not plan enough time to see everything.  It seems like it could take a few days to get through the whole museum.
We started out going through the Egyptian displays.  There was lots of pretty jewelry, clothing, art, architecture, and statues.
Then we headed over to the European art section of the museum.  These are a few of our favorites that we saw.  The first one is my favorite.  I just love how excited the father is to have his little girl come walking over to him. By Van Gogh

This area had a lot of ballerina paintings and statues we thought our girls would love.

So cool that you're able to spend some time in the city. I would love to make it out there some day!
