Santa

We wish you a Merry Christmas!!

We had our ward Christmas party last weekend and a special visitor dropped by.  This is the first year Libby wasn't really timid about seeing Santa.  She was very excited to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas.
Kennedi on the other hand had the reaction I didn't expect from her.  She has always been so mellow, carefree and not afraid of new people that I thought she would at least sit with Santa for a few seconds before realizing she didn't care for him.  The closer I brought her to him the tighter her grip on me, and she is strong.  This is as close as we could get to him.
Today for school we finally got around to writing Santa a Christmas letter.  Libby told me what she wanted to write and I helped her spell the words.  She wrote this all by herself, with a little help on the "S's"  We are practicing those tomorrow.  Libby loves to learn.  She makes sure we don't forget to do school each day.  She enjoys writing her name, "mom", "dad", and "Kennedi" because she does not need my help to spell them.  She remembers all on her own.
The girls are quite fond of the Christmas tree.  Though it may be small, they think it is so wonderful.  I'm constantly finding ornaments all over the house.  Now that we have a few presents under the tree, Kennedi can't keep her hands off them.  Josh and I are really looking forward to Christmas day with these cute girls.  They are so fun!
Kennedi hiding out in her and Libby's secret hideout...under the kitchen table.  We have a "little people" nativity set that the girls just love.

Getting ready to head off to the library.  Kennedi loves going out and about.  Especially the library.

This is Kennedi's I'm on the verge of trouble face.  Most likely she's planning to get into the cereal boxes that are behind her.  We always know when she is hungry, she scrounges for food anywhere.  She's even found grapes that I threw in the garbage and ate them.  She is a good eater, not much that she won't eat.

I'm really tired face.  Right before I took this picture she was giving us some serious scowls and just begging to go to bed looks.
Libby loves to help me in the kitchen.  She would love to have scrambled eggs every morning for breakfast just so she can whisk them for me.  She is an all time taste tester too.  She loves to taste things like flour and baking soda when it drops on the counter.  I don't get it.  I have to constantly tell her to just wait to taste things until I give her the spoon to lick.
Since Josh and I celebrated our 6th anniversary yesterday and our friends the Summers anniversary is today, we did another babysitting swap last weekend.  After dinner the kids all sat down to watch a movie and eat popcorn.  They all get along so well.  I couldn't resist a picture, except all eyes open was hard to come by.
For our anniversary we celebrated by going to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie.  It was absolutely fantastic!  We both loved it and recommend seeing it the theatre.
